OK, something a little off-topic, my 2020 summer project. I had some old century Douglas Fir tongue and groove planks in the garage waiting for a new home my partner suggested maybe we could use them to build a work desk....... The desk top is 10ft x 3 ft, planks are century old douglas fir 3 inch thick with varied widths some 16 inches in width. The Desk frame os made from 1.5 inch schedule 40 steel pipe held together with KEE clamlps and finished with antique bronze oil finish. 4 coats of Danish oil to start and 8 coats of rub on poly to add some depth and warm glow.

Looking to replace my photo editing Dell dual 27s monitors with a couple of Benqs but they are in short supply.

Very clean, nice job.

If only my computer desk looked that uncluttered.

Was going to have a model shoot today after 7-8 months and try my Sigma 105mm f1.4 which has been just sitting there. But had to cancel as air quality is pretty bad outside. So just playing with the lemons on hand.

Nice, I like the yellow on yellow.

I tried photographing a lemon once.

Amazing sunrise last January up in the mountains of Colorado. My prayers go out to all those affected by the wildfires in the Pacific Northwest and California. Just so terrible to see what's happening there.

You can also shoot it on white then change it with a solid color layer and changing the blend mode :D

It's a major pain to get rid of all the specks of dust that show on black acrylic like that though, no matter how much it's cleaned and dusted off...at least at my house.

I'm not gonna lie...I really like the look of the A7c. The flippy, twisty screen would be a huge plus for me (think low angle portrait orientation). I wouldn't mind having IBIS back either...not to mention the couple advantages of FF....all in the super compact body I've been enjoying with the smaller APS-c cams. Alas, I'm pretty invested in the crop world (adding the 10-18 today) and really don't want to drop the dough on a major gear change up. Regardless, the A7c is quite attractive. Perhaps in a couple years when the hype dies down and I can find one on the used market to pair up with a small 35 to get started.

Some new pics on SAR today if you folks haven't seen them yet.

Maybe I could pass the 6400 down to my son who has been asking for a camera. I caught him pretending to be taking pics of his sister at the wave the other day. I thought his was a fun shot! :-)

For anyone who has the a7RIII, a7RIV, or a7III, you can do focus shifts using this remote via Bluetooth. This will allow you to focus stack your image using the remote.

I often complained about living in a dark area.
Well more and more time now spent on the mountain at the near future (347 days) retirement home
and darkness takes on a new meaning.
But the Canon 200mm F2.8 seems to like the Riv via the Sigma MC-11 and for this shot a beam of sunlight was peaking through.
I can tell this lens will get a lot of use here thanks to the F2.8.

"Alas, I'm pretty invested in the crop world (adding the 10-18 today) and really don't want to drop the dough on a major gear change up."

I'm pretty sure that Sony FF cameras (a7III), either go into "Crop Mode" or can be put in crop mode for using APS-C lenses. So you could switch out slowly while not losing any capabilities. And do Future upgrades as cash permits.

Good point! The only FF I’d be interested in is A7c due to its size. It’s cool to
See this offering. We’ll see tomorrow what it’s all about.

I have that remote too. I'm not a member of Instagram though. Is there another link that describes how to set up the remote to do this? I vaguely remember hearing about this feature but don't recall where I found it.

EDIT: I think I've got it now. In manual focus mode, each time the "+" on the remote is clicked, it moves the focus point forward a small amount. Continue that to get multiple exposures at a slightly more forward point on your subject.
