Sony A7C has been officially announced and it’s $3298 AUD, quite high compared to the A7III!

It's 1,800 USD.....a7iii was 2,000 USD when it came out.

Kinda torn on the price.

I'm pre ordering a Sony product this week for sure though. PS5 :-)

It’s got a single card slot and old menu. Many on DPR are saying it’s D.O.A and I’d have to agree. The A7III was $3000 AUD at launch so kinda funny this one costs more.

I’m hoping I can get some stock at launch, although I read Sony is air shipping units just to have them in stock in time.

Not sure if Game Stop do it over there, by here EB Games (owned by Game Stop) do good trade ins so I should be able to get about $300-$400AUD off the price by trading in.

Xbox Series X is $749 here so I expect Sony to undercut them by $50 at least.

Watching this B&H video review of the new Sony a7c, I was surprised at how much noise the shutter makes. I was reminded of the sound the original a7r shutter made.

Apparently it’s mechanical only, no electronic shutter....

Oh yeah that's part of the reason I love GameStop...they'll rip the layperson off but if youre smart about sales and tradein promotions they work out nicely and tend to coincide with big releases.

Here the Xbox Series X goes from $749 to $349 if you trade your previous console in which is pretty good. The Switch was $550AUD at launch here and I traded my Wii U and 5 game’s and got it plus Zelda BOTW for only $220 which was great too.

I’m hoping I can do the same for the PS5 haha

This is the best and most bias free A7C video I’ve watched so far.

Gerald Undone is more focused towards video, but he is one of my favourite YT reviewers. Always very thorough and calls out pros & cons as he sees them, with corresponding justification. Here’s his take on the new A7c:

Everywhere/at any trailhead there are signs in Badlands Nat.Park warning about rattlesnakes.
Do you think they mean it?

One of my nieces came over so had another go with the FE 70/200 f2.8 I was going to get the FE 135 f1.8 but i do prefer a zoom for portraits and now iv had a few goes with the zoom i'm more than happy to stay with that it really is a super lens the full size image is as sharp as you could wish for.

Rob,
That is a lovely shot. Have you tried it with any converters?

Haha you've got far far worse in you neck of the woods.
Western rattlesnakes at least give you a heads up with the rattle (most of the time)and though the poison
can kill an adult it is rare, and often only deliver a 'dry' bite....now your Taipans, Browns, Tigers, are serious snakes!
