I was using my Kodak Brownie antique camera. After taking the first picture, then walking back, the engineer got out and commented on my camera, so I had to get a photo of him also. He told me a friend of his was a pro photographer and has recently gone back to film. Then the conductor said it was time to go, so we didn't get to talk anymore.

Another shot from a taxi window in Cuba: evening at a level crossing. I assume that this little car is a commuter, as I see lots of adults in the end window and children reaching out from the side.

Very nice photo of a train and mountains!

If you do not mind saying what part of the world are you located in John?

No, I took it in 2013 somewhere east of Holguín. Cuba is a poor country and what they have they use for a long time.

The West Riding of Yorkshire if you don't mind. I'll never get used to all these newfangled counties that were created in 1974.

The West Riding stretched from Sheffield in the south to Sedbergh in the north.

I like your old flag. Quite striking.
Learnt something from this brief input here.
I imagine some of those changes were hard to swallow.
Never thought much where Sheffield is. Last year I was talking to a couple at our local steam train who came to our Sheffield (and the steam train) to see what ours looked like. Bit (heaps) different to them.

Thanks... here is the colour version! :-) They were using the very old carriages especially as they are individual compartments and ideal for social distancing!

"NORTHERN BELLE" (external link) ran one of their Pullman style trains on Saturday from Preston to Carlisle and back with 6201 "PRINCESS ELIZABETH" (external link) at the helm.

The oubound journey was over the Settle to Carlisle line and the shot was taken where steam locos back in the day used to take on water while on the move, GARSDALE TROUGHS (external link)

Ticket prices were £395 !!!
