Looks a bit grumpy. Must have wanted something bigger. :p

Still waiting for the wisdom they promised would be worth getting old for.

I went out into the backyard for a few minutes at lunchtime today, and found two Green Jumping Spiders almost immediately.
This young one was the first, and it was out hunting for prey.

And this was the second, which had recently had a successful hunt and was sitting with its overturned prey (a leafhopper of some sort).

According to my reference material, here we have:

Female Northern Green Jumping Spider.
This is a big, obvious spider, inquisitive and fearless and a ready biter but not seriously harmful, causing only mild to sharp pain and swelling. The male usually has a mohawk hairdo. Size approx.. 15 mm.

Sparkling Northern Jumping Spider, between 5mm and 6mm in size (this one has some lunch).:-)

Taken at the Roma Street Parklands, Brisbane with a Canon EOS R6.

Cheers

Dennis
