This one is for Robert. I can see why you like going to Reelfoot, lots of birds. I am pretty sure I saw an Owl on multiple occasions but it was extremely shy and I could never get a good look at it...but the head was too round and no pronounced beak to be a hawk...a guy on Saturday said he saw a Bald Eagle dragging fish out of the water...I missed that by about 5 minutes...But this Great White Egret kept taking off and then coming back. It was fun to watch, a 200-600 would have been nice. Just as the sun was getting lower and the light was getting good and warm too...

The lockdowns have been tough on everyone wanting to shoot some action. Stay positive and keep shooting what you can.

I got lucky and one nearby Air Show went off in a modified format, Drive-in style. The show was a bit shorter than usual, no static displays, vendors etc. But I did get to workout my A9 a little. That 200-600 would have been perfect as I usually want to go further on the tele end instead of the wide with the jets. I am certainly not complaining about my 100-400. Here are a couple afterburner shots of a F-35 and F-22. It was great to get out to any event this year.

An expansive view showing Mount Bierstadt in the distance with a small pond. That's my wonderful wife surveying the beautiful landscape with our mini dachshund, Jack. Starting elevation at the trailhead is 11,700 ft.

Lee - awesome then and now. I bet you enjoyed driving it around the bends in the gorge - although the sheep tend to chance their arm at turning into road kill around there!!

Hi all, first post in ages. Apologies! Got out the habit of doing stuff like this at the start of lockdown, when working and schooling was keeping us plenty busy! Still, I've taken many pics over the last 6 months, just been sharing with family and local friends etc. Its fair to say we've got lockdown well documented (!) and we've all kept well and healthy. Hope you all have been too.

Still really enjoying the Sony system. No new gear for a while but have been keeping a close eye on recent releases and rumours! Hoping to get my hands on the new Samyang 35mm 1.8 for Christmas, and I reckon Sony will release (almost) the perfect camera for me next year in the form of the A7 IV. ;-)a My biggest disappointment so far in the Sony system is that I went all out and bought the 200-600, primarily seeking the perfect afterburner fighter jet picture at an air show. All booked up for the Air Tattoo at Fairford this year.... obviously cancelled!! Sad times, but I'll not blame Sony for that, and just be very hopefully I'll make it next year with my Dad!

Just uploaded a small selection of pics I've taken over the last six months....

Thanks. I don't often go to the Gorge. Roads are nice but usually full of cyclists! Which I'm not against, it just kills the fun.

Nice images. I like people's lockdown images. I didn't really go through one!

dude...love that. So cool that you still have the car and got a shot like this.

Brilliant Lee! As you know from my yearly Father’s Day photo I’m a big fan of photos at the same location as the kids grow. Awesome you got back there to recreate!

Lee, those are both fantastic and clearly shows just how fast time goes by and how quickly our children grow up. Like Eddie, I think you might want to do this again in the coming years.

Thanks all. The kids haven't been out in the Escort for probably over a year..... It's more like having four adults in there now! :-D

Still, it's fun. And it's memories.

Thanks for thinking about me :)
We've gotten an owl on all but one trip to Reelfoot.
BEs are there year around but concentrate in winter.
You know I go there for Osprey.
Did you eat at Boyettes?

Snapshot now...family memorabilia later...

On the topic of snapshots...a BTS snapshot of Sunset Saturday from down low under the Syrp as it was recording. I shot so much in less than two days...when you have no one with you, it is just full immersion.

This is my first year chasing fall color here in Colorado. Last year we moved at the end of October. Today I took my family into the mountains doing a big loop and stopping a few times for some hiking. I managed to take a few handheld shots while not wearing my wife's patience thin. The drive was so beautiful and we all had a great time exploring. Yes it was crowded but probably worse on Saturday. We tried to avoid the crowds as much as possible.

I stood on this pedestrian bridge to get this shot of the stream with a nice grouping of Aspen trees with beautiful fall color. Single shot with no filters.

Here's a Broad-winged Hawk nabbed at a little state park in southern Illinois on the
way back from out west.
We have them here on the mountain. Saw 3 in one day last week. Will be a challenge
getting them here with all the tree cover.
I wonder if they like chicken legs?

Lol Disneyfood....they dress it up but its so bad and expensive.

I want to Chime in. I should say I don't like disneyland much. Being afraid of moving things and heights, it is worthless for me except parades and fireworks. But I go for my kids. Anyways most concession stands to breakfast with disney characters are not good, food wise. But if you do go the few restaurants they have inside the park, I would say food is pretty good and just little bit more expensive. This is for the Disneyland in CA. Not sure how it is in Florida. I have had very good pizza, pastas in a nice outdoor setting. Once we went to really fancy food place for lunch as I was hungry and there were lines everywhere else except at this restaurant. Service was excellent. Food was very good and I am picky. To me most typical steak places that charge $100 don't know how to cook good. Another time over Thanksgiving weekend, we ended up going to another restaurant in Disney Walk. Again regular place wasn't available but their upstairs restaurant was, so we opted for it. Again, food was very good and we had a good view from our seats. One time I tried this regular sandwich place and wife got a cauliflower sandwich. Man it was as good if not better than most burgers I have had. Again not saying all food is good but there are good options available. Problem is I can't have them for lunch/dinner everyday as wife will complain about the cost and most are full days in advance.
