Last night at Loch Cameron, just outside of Twizel, New Zealand.
I shot the same pano back in July but there was so much airglow at the time that it looked weird to me. I end up liking this one a lot more.

Another panorama, taken last night. Same location as the one above but different point of view. I tried again later that night when the Milky Way was lower to get the entire reflection of the arch but some clouds appeared out of nowhere and covered... the core on the Milky Way, obviously! I just wish I had gumboots to get in the water.
I was lucky to get this shot because as soon as I finished the first row (the water), the wind picked up. I just looked away for a few seconds: when I looked at the loch again, it was like grey metal, not a single star reflected anymore. t just went from very still and the lock behind an incredible mirror, to being windy and crappy / no reflection.

I was out in country West Australia on a Farm stay and had my second attempt at the milky way, judging by the others I may have over done the saturation.
It's all about having a go and learning as you do. I used a little torch for the highlights.
Any CC is welcome

The sky was clear last night, so I went for a drive to Wivenhoe Dam west of Brisbane to see how my new Canon EOS R performs at night. Conditions weren't perfect because it was quite hazy the breeze meant I wasn't able to capture reflections of the stars, but it was still nice to be out under the Milky Way and the camera performed nicely. This is a panorama shot using the EOS R and Samyang 24mm lens (15 sec exposures @ f/2.8 and 3200 iso).

One of my faves on here!!!

I like this simple type of shot where there's no distracting elements or over improvised elements that detract from the entire point of the shot.

I don't think so at all.
It's a wonderful spectrum of colors you've managed to bring out, all in very good clarity.
I especially like how you highlighted the windmill.

Waiting for the darned moon to set on Monday night so I could take pictures of deep-space subjects. It was like watching paint dry so I passed the time trying to snap a few images of the Milky Way as the moon dropped below the treeline.

Over in Gillett Pa. I like to keep my photos as natural as possible, don’t know why. But it was the perfect night minus the coyotes haha

Milkyway with moon set. Had some reed canary grass in front and the slight breeze blurred it out a bit, not exactly was if was going for.

My first post so go gently please. My first half-decent image of the MW.
The heavy blue influence I assume is from the astronomik CLS clip in filter I used and I can't seem to take it out in processing. I use Darktable. Any suggestions welcome but if the CLS filter took all the other colours out I guess there's not much to be done.
Didn't think to try it without the filter - new lens and filter arrived same day and was impatient to try both!

This year the moon phase, clear weather, and the sunflowers didn't quite line up but still went out to see what might be possible. It was windy and cloudy, but got lucky and got a glimpse of the Milkyway and Jupitor peeking through the clouds as the moon set into the horizon.

A wee bit dated, I know. But, just seeing this it raises a point of interest for me. With the moon setting in the west, it is interesting that the sunflowers have all directed their attention in the opposite direction to the east, awaiting the life-giving glow of the approaching sun. Are the sunflowers actually anticipating the sun's arrival?

Have you noticed the field of flowers following the path of the sun as it travels overhead during the day? Just curious.

Great shot!!!!
Ed

Back from three nights in Milford Sound (New Zealand), with the hope of capturing the arch of the Milky Way. So happy that I finally got it! It was up there on my list of locations where I wanted to shoot the Milky Way.
I’ve had very little sleep over the last three days, since I obviously also shot sunrises and sunsets... It was totally worth it though!
