I heard a bunch of rainbow lorikeets making one hell of a racket outside and went to investigate. As I went around to the back yard, I spotted a cat disappearing over the neighbour's fence. Then I heard a "plop" and saw that one of the lorikeets had tumbled off the veranda roof onto the concrete footpath and then onto the grass. He stood up, tried to fly, couldn't, and then limped off down the side of the house fixing me with a beady eye from time to time. That was the last I saw of him (or her). Larry
