Charles:
The bridge is blocked at both ends. The road that I was on comes off of the current 89 and connects to the Southern end
of the bypassed section.
It goes into part of the Northern end of the Dells and provides access to a lot of private homes mixed into that part of the Dells.

Hey, G'day Ray. Just a pull back with a glimpse through the foliage, for scale.
Also put one the Reflections thread: https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=19136451
Wish I had a weekend to hike the gorge and take the bridge tour (under the bridge on the catwalks). The structure and setting is breathtaking. The span (c~1977) saves us drivers 40 minutes of switchbacks.

TY; I'll be visiting there soon after the Arizona oven cools a bit more AND I receive my Canon R5. Here's the Google Earth link.

It's been a long, HOT summer.

The Mogollon Rim (pronounced approx. 'muguyon' with a long 'o') is a fave of mine; I fotograf it with every new camera system I buy.

...is to my favorite section and is easy to get to on the Rim Rd. (FR 300) off of 87 north of and up the hill from Strawberry.

Was up near there last weekend, on the Bloody Basin Road and the connecting 'road' up from Cave Creek, through Seven Springs.
Be sure to be in a high clearance vehicle, with soft tires. The roads don't require you do do any rock climbing, but they are ROUGH
and can shake you to pieces. Saw several street vehicles along the way, but sure don't recommend doing the trip in one.

Wonderful old (yet probably rebuilt) covered bridge. Good angle and right time of the year for that shot. Look at those beautiful stone piers!

Thanks David.

It actually was rebuilt about 25 years ago after a fire (arson) destroyed the original. They used original methods on the re-construction including wooden pegs everywhere instead of nails/bolts/screws.

Very cool they rebuilt the bridge using the original methods! Do you know when the bridge was first built?
