All those people behind the bison, and there he is, starring right at you, Joe. If I were behind your camera, I think I'd be a bit nervous.
Nice shot, by the way.

Just a reminder to those whom are going to national parks/wildlife areas. Lens rentals are cheap, maybe 1/10th of what most spend on a vacation. Renting a lens = even better results while still giving wildlife some space:

Nice shot!!!

You mean my iphone won't get that shot at that distance!? :-D

*** EVERYONE TAKE NOTE ***

Notice how he used a 400mm lens here? This would be the minimum to keep YOU at a distance from the animals.

Thanks. Most of my shots are very little cropped, even with 400mm on FF camera. Dedication, good hide and be in place at right time - usually when is still dark.

The first photo, I have no idea what you are showing us. What is this thing??

The second picture with the netting... is this part of a "hide"? If it is, it does not look like it would be easy to get into.....

In the first picture it is a base part of my hide, basically a foam mat or two which protects me from a cold of wet muck. Well, not always, especially when the tide is in.
The second picture, shows this base part of the hide covered by a camo mesh with additional natural stuff I can find around like algies or grass.
Here is a better view what's in the first picture.

And no, it's not always easy to get under the camo mesh, especially someone very big, like me.

This is with extra grass cover

And if I can't get really close to the subject from the shore, then I use floating platform

If not - a good way for taking Nessie's pic.

BTW, mkkaczy - that is some set-up!
