Oct 21, 2020 09:46 | #4071 Bianchi wrote in post #19141365 ![]() Anyone use a Sigma 150-600 with and without Canon 1.4 TC with adapter for the R5 ? Your thoughts ? I'm using it with an R6. I've not had a chance to take that combo any further than the backyard for a few minutes, but my initial impression is the AF is been very quick. I've even tried it with a Canon 1.4X III just for grins, and was surprised how fast the AF is to acquire. Faster than my M50. In high speed mechanical shutter, it shows the green+ indicator both with and without the extender. I may try to get some test shots in the next couple days. Anything in particular you are looking for feedback on that I may be able to try and test? I guess I got confused by the confusing product description at BH site: --------------- Sigma TC-2001 Overview Optimized for Canon EF-mount lenses in the Global Vision line, the TC-2001 2x Teleconverter from Sigma will offer an increase in focal length of 2 times for select Global Vision lenses. This model offers full communication between the lens and camera and will allows autofocus to operate at up to f/8. The teleconverter also features two Special Low Dispersion elements for reducing the appearance of chromatic aberrations and maintaining quality. Additionally, for protection, the TC-2001 is both dust and splashproof. When attached, the 2x conversion results in a light loss of approximately two stops. A soft zippered carrying case is included to protect the teleconverter when not in use. SYS Cream of the Crop ![]() More info | Oct 21, 2020 10:22 | #4073 Bianchi wrote in post #19141370 ![]() Sy I use a 150-600 + 1.4II on a 5DIV and I get AF @ f9 @840mm . Ironically it wont AF on my A7rIII. The only thing different on the A7RIII is I am using a Sigma MC11 adapter to use on the Sony. I have some testing ahead to try to figure out how I can get it to AF using my Sony camera. Another thing to take into consideration is the FW update your running. Now what I am concerned about is will it work as well as it does on the 5DIV on the R5 ? Here's an example of of the 150-600 + 1.4II on a 5DIV with AF [URL=[URL]https://flic.kr/p/2jr5ZR7] ![]() Thank you for the feedback. That's an excellent result you got there with the 1.4II ~~

Oct 26, 2020 17:49 | #4079 Bianchi wrote in post #19141388 ![]() I appreciate your response, early indications from your initial testing on your R6 looks positive. BTW what FW are you running on your C 150-600. By all means post up some of your images with & without TC when you get out in the field, and share your thoughts. Another thing to take into consideration is the camera settings your using for action. Hope other's using the R5 will shine in Sorry it's taken a bit to respond. I had to dig the dock out to see what firmware, and see it's 2.00. I have purposely not updated it beyond that as it had worked fine, and thought I had heard that in later updates it ceased it to be compatible with a Canon teleconverter. This was outside. The Flickers were working over the neighbors tree looking for a snack. R6 | 15-85is | Rokinon 14 2.8 | 16-35is L | RF 24-105is L | 100-400 II L | Σ150-600 C | 1.4X III | 2X III | 430ex |
