Forgetting this probably gets snow too so slippery roads and poor braking are possibilities.

Grades don't seem bad for an automobile, but long 7% grades can be problematic for large vehicles. The danger is brake fade resulting from almost constant braking. Big rigs are equipped with exhaust brakes to reduce the need for braking.
