AI editing is going to make it even easier for people and blur the line between photography and digital art even more...not sure I think that last one is a good thing.

Was considering it but reckon I’m going to pick up the x100V and use that as my take everywhere/go small body. (I’ve owned the S,T and F so know what I’m getting into - plus Fuji JPEG’s are the business and basically don’t need editing which is a big plus for me and family documentary type stuff)

The V is the best x100 series camera I’ve ever had, I had all except for the original. Close focus is finally fixed, tilt screen is really nice, and at its heart still a x100. Just be mindful that it generates heat much faster than the older ones and a even though it’s a new lens, AF still isn’t great. I get that the heart and soul of a x100 is the hybrid finder but I think I used the OVF maybe twice when I owned it.

I'm playing pingpong with camera now. While I love the colors of the Fujifilm,it slows me down quite a bit in the shoot. When I shoot real estate, I take 3 brackets(AEB), then I switch to single shot to take a frame with flash. With Sony I just use 1, 2 or 3 in the mode dial. With Fuji, I have to turn the top left dial to switch between bracketing and Single Shot which is fiddly to do, then on the right dial, i had to switch to M and A back and forth.

For that, I'm going back full Sony using the A7C. Flippy screen is helpful when you had to position your camera in a tight corner. I nevermind the single card slot. I never had an issue with SD card and if ever I'll encounter one, it's not like weddings that there's no way to reshoot.

Keeping the A7III for my son's B camera in video.

I’m considering it. Ever since I picked up the NEX-7 back in 2013, my dream camera was a FF version in the NEX-7 body. I still do this day say that my favorite body style was the NEX-7 with the tri Navi dials. That why I briefly considered buying the Leica CL. Having two twin dials at the top that are customizable are my dream. Sadly while the a7c isn’t the same body, it’s the closest thing to it.

Maybe when prices settle down I’ll scoop up a gently used one. At say $1,300 for a used body I will do it, $1,800 new is a little steep for me.

I love digital art and the creativity people have but I don’t like when they are not up front about it. That’s why sky swaps have never sat well with me.

Totally agree Travis. I commented on Elia Locardi’s post on IG about this topic. I was surprised to read he was promoting these AI tools.

Sky Swaps for anything other than Real Estate...rub me wrong. I got duped once about 10 years ago and have tried to learn to spot it and also to not trust what I see unless I know the integrity of the photographer.

well...he is probably on their payroll. Which...IMO means he might not be true to his own beliefs anymore...taking the money over the integrity. And I am on your side 1000%...FWIW...I am all about the chase of an image if it takes me years...I won't just swap out one sky to make it work...I get no joy in that.

And in this line of discussion...the Epson Pano Awards were announced this week, and I went through the winners in the Landscape category...pretty sure a lot of them use AI, sky swaps, and alternate reality. They almost ALL looked overly edited and composited. Just not my cup of tea anymore than garish HDR images with the saturation slider pegged to the right and nightmarish images that come from it.

I’m in the camp of not agreeing with sky swaps UNLESS they person posting the photo is upfront about it.

Not sure how feasible it would be but I’d love for developers to embed something into EXIF data that states if a photo has had its sky swapped out.

I think this is possibly why my favourite type of digital art is surrealism. There’s no question with that as to if it’s real or created

Still waiting for this type of weather to show up here in northern California. This will be my last bird season here, retiring in March, so I hope to make the most of this winter. This is the Sacramento NWR.

With another Red Flag Fire Warning on the way I was outside cleaning up some brush and leaves. This crow kept squawking the entire time.

Wonderful portrait of a handsome species. To me, an easterner, your Crow looks like a Raven. I'd have
to wonder what our Crows look like to you, or have you seen them? Yeah I know both corvids, but side
by side pretty big difference.

For practical purposes we have now relocated up to the mountain and either I'd forgotten, but am now being reminded,
how well Crows do in the woodlands. Quite the 'thrivor' they are.

You all know it doesn't get any better for me than this type shot.
Finding them, getting a shot, hoping it turned out ok.
