Man, these are impossible birds to capture well, and the fact that you got the KF in front of such a splendid background just makes this photo sing.

Matt thanks. It was possible because Poof was driving. Really needed 500 or more, but cropability of the Fuji really helped.
The pixel density of the XT4 is almost same as the A7Riv but I believe the noise of the XT4 is more manageable than the
Sony.

Went exploring yesterday and by accident found The Big Spring Creek. It's right off FR23 (near FR90) in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This stopped saved my day as the rest of afternoon proved to be pretty disappointing.

Edit: it looks a little dark on my phone. Guess I’ll have to re-edit

why is it that I don't see all the wrong in a photo til I post it

this is a blend of two photos .. one with no lighting/no model.. the other with ..

I need to find a better method of blending.. this was too much work and the results too poor.

xt4 and the 50-140 got a good soaking today.. we shall see just how 'WR' they really are... towel dried it and its now sitting by the heater...

i'm just going to say..with my 5d3/d4 and 24-70 I shot so confidently in bad weather because it is a proven system..
I admit i'm a bit more nervous with my Fuji gear.. I hope the system proves as rugged for my bad weather needs.

I have no qualms about the cameras and bad weather and it rains a lot here. It’s raining right now and all day completely ruining my plans to test the video AF for a YT vid. Maybe tomorrow if I get time, I’ve been told to paint a wall in the house and have to go collect my car from the service place. Also have a client shoot in the afternoon so I might be following your lead of shooting in the rain Randall

WR in effect 8-)

You are 85% there.

The color temperature looks mismatched (background is cool, she is warm). Match that, and perhaps drop in a color grade and a little grain and it will sing.

Easy.

Just one opinion. YMMV

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).

Another shoot with Ross this evening, thankfully I remember to bring a camera, cause you never know... it's been a while since I did this :-P

Lovely composition and interesting.
I prefer the colour but that's coming from a lover of timber and the colour shows the timber in a very natural way. It's age and patina shows through in the colour but not so much in the B&W.
The second one feels like I'm there looking in.

Not sure if you were just making comment yourself or asking input?
