I wasn’t really sure about the silver top on this body but it actually looks really good in this photo (Sony should hire you to do their marketing photos :) ). How’s the MF experience on that body?

I actually really like the silver top, very retro look, looks fantastic paired with the Nokton.

I made a mono head quit a few years ago a vertical post 3" long but went a different route (I have a photo somewhere ) to take the lens over the centre of the mono pod but offset does work quite well .

I almost buy it but when Gerald Undone said you cannot turn off EFCS, i backed out. it's because when it's on, triggering godox system is a hit and miss. Otherwise, i really wanna have one. great travel camera though. one day i'll get one just for family.

I’ve actually stayed away from the reviews and chat about the a7c. I initially dismissed it as it didn’t seem much smaller than my a7riii apart from the evf hump but I’m finding myself more intrigued now. I’m trying not to watch any YouTube stuff on it in case I end up wanting one :) Got a Fuji x100v to fund first

I’ve read this concern a few times. Is it prevalent?

I use Godox flashes - off camera manual and on (TT350) TTL with my A7ii always set to EFCS in and have never had an issue.

It does look nice with that lens on it.

How do you find the EVF compared to your other a7 bodies?

Off-axis seemed problematic to me until I received the monogimbal and actually used it with the a9+200600. Did just fine. Took
30-45 seconds for my mind to adjust. After that all good.
Using a monopod one axis of the traditional (remember I used the Jobu Jr. for a while on the monopod per Perry's video) gimbal stays
locked...you get that rotation from the monopod itself.
Still balance your rig though--takes all of 15-20 seconds. Maybe put a mark where it aligns for balance if a set up you use often. Then
you're all set.
If we get to go to Conowingo (looks doubtful now with Corona 2.0 shutdowns) i'll def. emply the monogibal on the 200600.
I've even found that for lengthy sits (at Conowingo I take a cozy camp type chair to relax in between bouts of action), the monogimbal camera+lens
rig just lens against me. I become the effective tripod in that case.

I love the concept and applaud Sony for it; but it is still the rangefinder style I do not like.
Only once came close...the NEX-7 with the Tri-navi wheels. Heck I was even looking a NEX-7s the other day
and ultimately decided not.

Some of you might know I dabbled in Nikon for a bit, still have their 300PF I adapt to the A7Riv.
Had andsuper loved the 500PF but couldn't get over the DSLR experience, just too ancient for me now no matter
how good the D500 and D850 were. I tried their dinky Z50...it was sad.
I do want another 500mm like the 500PF but for mirroless.
I was about to go down the Canon rabbit hole again since they now have two diffractive offerings in RF mount.

Then I read this, best news I've heard in a long long time-
https://www.sonyalpharumors.com …-fresnel-lens-technology/ (external link)

So maybe Sony will issue their version of the Nikkor 500PF.
I certainly am hoping so.
Would be fantastic to add a a9x and a Sony 500diffractive for retirement.
Just the rumor listed above was enough to pull me out of the Canon hole.
But Fuji also has patents already a year now for their DOE lenses.

Who will be first? Sony or Fuji to get one out?
