Just a little boredom from lack of serious entries I think, Nigel.

Seven days having passed, it is now time for the reckoning.

Not many participants but several posts and some good fun. Many improvements to my original. I am, however, forced to surrender the hill to Mark's battleship and Martin's Tsunami - though old King George did get in a final volley. For the week, I deem Stiga the challenge winner for his various entries, serious and beyond.

Thanks to all. Carry on Martin!

- Rob

Games on the net go through sequences like that don't they. Sometimes going days and even weeks as people have other things to sort out.

Thanks Rob. I am a bit surprised that there were not more realistic entries. It is an interesting scene and I enjoyed working on your image.

I'll try to find something totally different for the next challenge.

Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge

I took this earlier this month in my local public park befor gales and torrential rained decimated the colours. I was there a bit too early, the light was low and there was a big dynamic range. I took a bracketed set of 3 at "EV spacings but 5 might have been better.

[Edit] I have found a better set which you nay pref to work on

***************
...now compiled into a single, easy to locate thread, that can be added to your subscribe/follow list!

Rules are simple:

Download the image file from the current week

Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (as many entries as you like)

The owner of the original image will choose a winner

The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link

The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc

The purpose of this game is to be creative and learn new editing techniques. You must give some insight into exactly how you went about editing the image. For example, increased shadows sliders, reduced highlights, local sharpening, white balance adjustment, specific filters used, tone curve adjustments, etc. Comments and/or questions regarding the edits are encouraged.

Also appreciate Elvis's reinforcement (and his mom's) but to no avail against the battleship. (Have long suspected he's been hanging around these parts.)

Stop Press!

I have found a better set of images of the Macrosty Park bandstand which you may prefer. See my original post for the additional download link.

Dang Martin I was half-way through the original...:-P The new one is better though! DXO Photolab 4: Lens corrections and NR, adjust contrast, tone and vibrancy, adjust perspective and horizon=>Affinity Photo for cutting a chunk out of the middle to improve composition.
