Thanks, I knew I was forgetting a couple and I hoped you would fill in the gaps. Tata is a respected company, although I'm not surprised that there was in improvement in quality when Jaguar was sold from Ford. There's a reason I don't own Fords any more, and they are the best of the USA manufacturers.
It seems, Capn' the Ford Mustang is a coveted car by certain type of driver over here - don't ask me what type though.
In the Ford days, Fords seemed to be letting Jaguar rapidly go downhill. Then Tata took it over. Everything about the car improved although there have been a few recent setbacks - mainly due to a sign of our times. When I first bought a Jag, the dealer said "See you in twelve months" I ask what about the initial three month check-up. He confidently said "You won't have any trouble" He was correct.

You didn't mention that Chinese firm either. MG

John, Many moons ago -so to speak - I had a red 1929 MG Midget (the wasp shaped tail model). When I was driving it I had to rest my arm out of the window because it was so crammed, the rain would soak you through to the skin and every time you hit a bump the hood would collapse. It had a wooden floor, which had gone rotten and in the wet weather the rain would spout up. With a bit of hard cornering the wire wheel spokes would spring away from the hubs and a bit of violent acceleration would advance the OHC camshaft by a tooth or two. If you missed a gear, a few more teeth would be stripped out of the crown wheel.
Needless to say, the small space behind the front seats was full tools and spares donated by friends from old cars. Now, as a sequel, I gave £18 for it and got £22 for when I finally gave up with it. I patted myself on the back for having made a profit. I can only imagine it's value today.
