still need to do some micro adjustment for the 7D II but it might just be the autofocus being a bit jumpy.

Still struggling to keep ISO low but I can handhold with VC on at a pretty low shutter speed relative to the focal length.

I haven't been out much lately but these little Crimson Rosellas come by now and then. I'm pretty sure they're juvenile Crimson Rosellas, rather than Green Rosellas.

Does anyone have experience with R6/R5 bodies? Does the adapted lens behave well?

It should work great considering the focusing on the R6/R5, but you never know, maybe there's a firmware or other issue. If you can visit s a big camera store with a display model of each, you could test them together.

It worked well on my R5 with the Tamron 1.4 TC meant for it, for a few minutes that I tried someone else's, but I have read reports of the lens needing a battery power cycle to clear up a state that it can get into.

Thanks. That’s what I have read and seen as well

My Sigma 100-400/5-6.3 has a similar situation, with AF, where it continues to work at all in marginal situations with the 2xIII and R5, but AF speed increases for a short while after I reboot the camera. I did a somewhat-controlled test a couple of weeks ago, where I focused back and forth on houses across a bay, and a close rail on the dock I was on, after using the camera for a bit, and the long-throw change in focus was always fast right after a camera reboot, and then got more sluggish again shortly thereafter. I reproduced this 5x in that location.

I certainly hope that if there are some older Canon lenses that have issues from the same root causes, they are fixed by future firmware, and that could make Canon inadvertently fix compatibility with some 3rd-party lenses, as they are not likely to try to increase compatibility for 3rd-party lenses as an end in itself.

The biggest problem in the past with 3rd party options, IME, is that they needed lots of AF tuning on DSLRs, varying more in their need for adjustments at different target distances, which the Canon DSLRs did not allow tuning for. The hope I had was that these new mirror-less Canons would get rid of that main issue with these lenses, but all I am finding is more incompatibilities with anything non-Canon, especially with lenses that tricked f/5.6 AF to use f/6.3 with correct reporting or f/8 (with a TC). My G1 version of the Tamron 150-600 wouldn't AF in Live view on my 90D, and won't AF at all on my R5.
