USS Charleston (LCS-18) from her commissioning (if I remember correctly) in Charleston SC 2019. Sadly no public tours, only VIP's

USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49). Making donuts off the coast of San Diego in 2019. She was a long way out there, thus the poor quality of the image, but I could still feel the pain of her crew being so close to home, but so far away.

USS John Finn (DDG-113) Returning to port and passing the sub base after a very brief underway period. (and by brief I'm talking hours. she left while I was visiting the Cabrillo Monument (where these pics were taken from) and returned a couple hours later. While I don't miss the mindless making circles off the coast of San diego I do miss the navy and deployments.

On 13th of March 2009 I was on a course at HMAS PENGUIN (Shore establishment) on Sydney Harbour, the date just happened to coincide with the end of a Fleet concentration period off the coast culminating in a fleet entry. I only had a tiny little point and shoot Olympus but decided to take my chances in the early morning light.

The Fleet formed up line astern.

The Ex USN Newport Class LST's USS SAGINAW and USS FAIRFAX COUNTY, purchased, modernised and commissioned in to the RAN as HMAS KANIMBLA (Lima 51) and HMAS MANOORA (Lima 52) respectively. Despite going over budget and overtime once the refit/modernisation was complete they became valuable assets to the fleet right up until they decommissioned.

Interesting. Never seen any where they removed the big ramp holder on the bow. Sure did give it a different look.
