The title does say "tree" and not "trees"!

Yes, and the quotation marks around "favorite tree" remove the ambiguity that would exist without them. However, POTN doesn't have a thread for stands of trees, so they end up here. I'm not taking a position on whether multiple-tree images belong in this thread. I only spoke up in favor of civility.

I've said far worse on POTN, and a casual jibe about thread policing is not uncivil by any means. Still, I will consider myself duly scorned and shamed. ... ...
But not defeated! This is only my second favorite tree. :p

It was all meant in good spirit. A favourite photo of trees might be an idea for a new thread though.

To further pull the chain on the "favorite tree" debacle, said quotation marks are around both "favorite" and "tree." The meaning of "tree" has already been well pontificated at length so I will not pontificate on it any further. It's the word "favorite" for which I will pontificate. "Favorite" is singular - not plural. Any subsequent post of different tree photos imply the photographer has multiple favorites - favorites being the plural and therefore violating the specific grammatic context of the thread subject. Thus each and every photographer should be limited to posting one and only one "favorite tree" photo - with only one tree (not necessarily their favorite "tree" but favorite "photo of a tree") - abiding by the request of the original poster. To correct these violations, any photographer who has posted multiple "favorite" tree photos (forgive me Father for I have sinned) should immediately remove all such posts except what is truly their FAVORITE tree photo!

:-D;-)a:-P:lol::oops:vmad

A favorite picture from this week of some tree, or a picture of this week's favorite tree, or it's just some tree I though looked interesting.

Surrealistic though real. Reminds me of Magritte.

Thanks for the comment. I went for a walk on a beach at Cancun, a boring beach lined with hotels, and came across this scene. All I had on me was my phone. It did a good job IMO!

Sun-bleached dead trees at McConaughy Lake, Ogallala, Nebraska. I really wish I had my infrared converted camera along for that trip. This subject would have responded well in IR.
