Thanks, Jake.

Here's a screenshot of the frame filling Magpie in Lightroom. It's just an unprocessed raw file.
6 metre is really not that much out there. And the 600/11 has 4,5 metre MFD. Pfff, that's nothing! :-P

A Grey heron landed on a rooftop of one of the buildings opposite my apartment. Too far away for my 300mm, too far for my 400mm so I couldn't resist and mounted the 800/11. And still had to crop big time.

I hate the background even though I applied a tiny bit of a blur to soften it up.

So then I tried to work that background. A heavy blur combined with all sorts of things like de-contrast, gamma correction, offset, you name it. Until I got this. I quite like it. For now. But it's the kind of thing that I will probably hate tomorrow...

Took the lens out today to see how it would do with songbirds. It did very well. Although a bit much lens for the park... :-P
Great tit

Closeup with the 800/11. This was at the minimum focus distance. Rose hip medley.

Is anyone using the 600F11? I'm planning to get the 800 but just realize how small the 600 is. Would be a great travel lens.

Well, there is a thread for the 600/11 here: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1518254
But so far only one person has posted some pics.

First shot with the lens, it's definitely going to take a little practice with this much focal length. ;-)a

Common Goldeneye. The 800mm/11 does pretty good in good light. This was a serious crop (8192 > 2497 px in width).
