I never shot video with my camera. Where would one start? I need to do a video of my kid playing clarinet. I tried to find something on youtube but can't find anything relevant.

An early Christmas present to me.

I used my Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f1.2 lens for this one.

This is Glenlivet's "Double Oak" Single Malt Scotch Whisky. It costs $5 more than the Glenlivet Founder's Reserve "American Oak Selection" version. I'm curious to see if I can detect any differences between the two.

I used my Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f1.2 lens for this one too.

Carlo, that Sigma 35 f2 lens looks pretty great. I watched Dustin’s review. I’m going to wait and see if Sony releases their GM version.

My dumbed down approach is:
- vid mode
- 4k
- 24fps
- 1/50 SS
- aperture and ISO for exposure
- Stabilization. I bought a Crane m2 that has been fun.
- Pan as little as possible
- Slap it all together in iMovie

It has not been all that hard to learn the basics and I'm getting some great short vids that I would never thought that easy. The quality is fantastic!

I used to have the Canon 35 f2 and loved it on the 5d's. Fast and still plenty of shallow Dof goodness in a very compact package. I bet you're gonna be stoked! Congrats on putting together your little kit!

Need more help. I recorded the video. I can play the thing on the camera but can't find the damn file on the SD card when connected to my PC. I have to submit his homework assignment tonight. I should have tested all this but assumed would be easy peasy.

Figured out. Adobe CC was able to find the mp4 files where ever they were hiding.

really enjoying mine!

i'm still in the process of setting all the custom buttons though.. recently shot 2 music videos with it,,

have to figure out the best profiles , i know with the a7s2 i was on slog2 but there was a bit of customization i did as well so that the files.

just ordered a cage for it, i want to start using my atamos with it more so i can record directly to prores 422 rather than transcoding.

the a7s3 is everything i was hoping for .. now why did i sell all my lenses..lol

While most want more video features, I’d love to see Sony (and really all camera makers) make a more modern version of the Nikon DF which is pure stills! That would be an ideal body for me as long as the ergonomics are right :D
