If anyone has taken any photos with the R6 and EF-S lens, please post them, I would love to see them.

Here is one as a sample, I had my Sigma 17-50mm EFS mount lens on my camera with crop sensor mode while I was playing with focusing settings one evening while watching tv (my only other lens that works with the camera is giant and weighs several pounds, so I've only put my EF-S lens on and used it that one time).

The photo is not good, but I don't think that is due to crop mode and more due to the actual photo haha.

With the APS-C crop, full res would be about 8MP,. that's what the pros were paying $5K for in the 1D MkII in 2005 :)

Yup I was one of them

mainly because it had dual cards and you could use ISO 1600 w/o a lot of problems

1600-2000 ISO....My oh My how things have changed

You can use 25000 ISO and its probably better on the R6 v/s the old 1DMK11

kids today dont know how good they have it

I Think your the first with the RF Nifty to post. How is it?
I disliked the old nifty for it's very poor autofocus, but love the current EF 50 with the STM focus motor. In fact I've been using it with the adapter on the EOS R quite a bit. Just love that lens for bang for buck.
I'd be curious if like most RF lenses, if the new one at nearly double the price offers even better IQ, or if feels like they just changed the mount?

I actually gave away my original nifty fifty to a friend for free as hadn't used it for so long as I had picked up the 50mm 1.4 so it seemed a bit odd to buy the RF version.

However it was the cheapest RF lens I could get my hands on and at one point I only owned a 50mm 1.8 and a 17-85mm with a 40D and I absolutely loved the nifty fifty.

So I was kind of curious to test a RF lens without much pain to my wallet especially as I traded in an extender to cover the cost.

I only tested it today whilst out in the rain with the kids and dogs so it wasn't a great opportunity to test it with a focused mind (excuse the pun).

It was so great to go out for the day with such a light kit (R6 and 50mm 1.8) and I was pleased with the photos I took.

I am going off for the day tomorrow on my own so it will be a better opportunity to test it and I will report back here and post more photos.

I have a the RF 50mm 1.8 on order, I loved my EF nifty fifty and unfortunately when I moved to the US I was limited to bringing only what I could fit in a couple of suitcases, so it didn't make the cut. I was considering getting my family to ship over the camera gear I left behind or re-buying when they announced the RF version.

I was excited to see some images with it here!

I see the terms 1st curtain electronic shutter and electronic shutter mentioned in threads/reviews of the R6/R5. What is the difference between the two?

Electronic first curtain (EFCS) begins exposure for each pixel row electronically; the pixels in the row are reset, and ready to start taking exposure, but exposure ends when a mechanical shutter curtain covers the row of pixels. Full-electronic shutter (ES) doesn't use the mechanical curtains at all, and begins and ends exposure in each row of pixels electronically. (Full) mechanical shutter uses moving curtains to both begin and end exposure.

Full mechanical and EFCS give fast shutter rolls, with a minimum of distortion, but full electronic shutter (ES) on most cameras still has a slow roll, compared to the other modes. EFCS can give weird bokeh artifacts at very low f-numbers with very fast shutter speeds, and depending on how many rows of pixels are scanned per millisecond. that is because the parts of the aperture that are used for exposure can vary from the top and bottom of the aperture, since the mechanical shutter moves smoothly, and the electronic shutter moves in discrete steps.

Another one of those dull days we having been having recently. So I put on the Canon 300mm F4 lens and headed to the park in a nearby town. I am very happy with the performance of this lens with the R6. It almost turns night into day. ;-)a

A perfect bird to brighten up dull days. What a beauty, Don. Great shot and lovely clarity.
I too love my 300/4L on the R6.

Thanks Levina. On these days I'm using using F8 or F11 with an extender but today I was shooting at F4 which really helps on these dull mornings. Did I mention it was cold too. 0C
