Leaning how to use Photoshop

My attempt at combining 2 photos into one. Wanted to get some opinions. Be honest, I have thick skin

That looks pretty good. I would add some shadow at the top right of the hole to give it a sense of depth.

The focus looks a little off in the "red/orange rock "section. It is out of focus at the outside, then in focus as it moves towards the center, then out of focus again as it goes further in. So far so good. But the spiders at the center are in focus. You can't convincingly go (from the outside working in) Out of focus-In focus-Out of focus-In focus.

Try blurring the in focus red orange section in photoshop and you could solve this. My eye went right to the infocus part of the red/orange rock.
