I am not an artist/sculptor, so my first Neanderthal minded name for this was "Explosion in noodle factory"
But, those would be huge noodles, so I then went with "Paper Mache project during a hurricane"
What do I know about art ... I just point a little box randomly at objects & push a button.

I am with oyu Doug. It looks like a papier maché experiment that went wrong. But then again I once saw a 'sculpture' that was an old hospital bed just wrapped in thick hemp rope and it was highly regarded, probably by a load of 'artists' that had enjoyed some of the by product of the hemp rope

Yeah, I see this statue/sculpture much in the same way, more like a bizarre post-modern mummy of sorts. IMO it doesn't truly make much sense, but it's kinda cool. Nevertheless, it didn't stay there for very long, and what we have now just isn't terrible.
