Thanks for all your great Entry's

When I seen the big tree I knew I wanted to put a Big Cat on the high branch, and turn it into photo art
I was disappointed with the lake shot because of mother nature not being so kind,, so I added a different sky

It was a tough call between RDWP & rrblint, in the end I went with RDWP based on his first edit of tree.
Congrats RDWP >>> Carry on

Thank you Bianchi. I enjoyed all the versions again this round - including yours, above. That first one is particularly neat. Kinda like if Rousseau and Van Gogh had a kid who painted - or some such. I was thinking of something generally similar at one point (though not the big cat) but couldn't find the "tool" in my softwares. Do you mind saying which you used? Thanks again - new challenge up shortly - when I find something.

NEXT CHALLENGE

This one a bit different again. Couldn't find any decent subjects with multiple exposure settings so I thought this might work instead:

Save the Ducks (and a maybe couple of swans)

Was trying out a member of the Bigma lens family a few days ago (the Sigma 150-600 C) so went down to a local park which always has lots of sitting ducks, so to speak. But it was getting late so I had to crank up the ISO (up to 6400) while keeping a decent shutter speed. Some were underexposed even with the high ISO. So ... I am linking to a few of these images to see if you can turn one (or more) into a POTN-worthy capture. All taken with a Canon 90D so lots of megapixels crammed in there; also means that any max zoom shots were looking like 960mm. These are hand-held, so lots of potential for jiggle, too.

The Links

Original .cr3 files (zipped) = https://www.dropbox.com …kcuy/CR3%20Files.zip?dl=0 (external link)
Same, converted to .dng using Adobe = https://www.dropbox.com …wqou/DNG%20Files.zip?dl=0 (external link)

Post or PM me if you have any problems accessing the files.

The Rules

Before and After - The Weekly Editing Challenge

Now compiled into a single, easy to locate thread, that can be added to your subscribe/follow list!

Rules are simple:

Download the image file from the current week

Contestants will have 7 days to edit the image and post their edited version to the thread (as many entries as you like)

The owner of the original image will choose a winner

The winner will copy & paste this post and include a new downloadable image link

The new image must be unedited / SOOC (straight our of camera), full-resolution, and in a RAW format, ie. CR2, DNG, TIF, etc

The purpose of this game is to be creative and learn new editing techniques. You must give some insight into exactly how you went about editing the image. For example, increased shadows sliders, reduced highlights, local sharpening, white balance adjustment, specific filters used, tone curve adjustments, etc. Comments and/or questions regarding the edits are encouraged.

I like this plump, happy couple. Converted in ACR, the rest in Photoshop CS6. Noise reduction and selective toning and darkening of the background. Selective brightening (curves) and contrasts (Topaz Clarity) on the subjects. Sharpened subjects with Topaz Detail. This is a nice shot. I tried to maintain the mood of the original and not introduce any fancy stuff.

Thank you! I wasn't aware that PMs were turned off. I just checked, but I couldn't figure out how to allow them.

At the top left of your forum page, click on the "FYEO" button. Then look on the left column for "PM Settings". You can allow/deny PM's on the right.
