XM640 at Royal Hellenic Airforce Larissa, Greece and about as far away from the sea as you can get in Greece!

A 2 week detachment with 5 Brits coming in twice each day and parking on a pan big enough for 3. That is unless we reversed the last 2 in under their own power! Well, we didn't have anything big enough to push them back and that's what the Brit drivers were paid for anyway

No sweat mate

One of my all time favorite aircraft. Sorry I couldn't post just one shot, I got so many keepers at this airshow because the weather was perfect and the sun was nearly perfect as well. These are both hand held dust pump shots. (I love that lens.)

This was one of those air shows where every shot was a keeper and at least for me that is a rarity. I have some decent shots of the Blue Angels from this same show that I will post up after a bit.

Larissa is famous for her awfully hot summers and dark misty winters. Looks you had a great time :-P

Our alarm call on that detachment was the first Brit going into reverse pitch on landing. Then it was out of the shed we were staying in, into the Land Rover and tear through the out gate', well, it was closer than the 'in gate', and onto the airfield. The gate guard learned very quickly to stay in his hut! We got to the pan just in time to marshal the aircraft in.

We were there to ferry the pongos back and forth on their big joint exercise. There were loads of them. As we had the only supply of fresh milk and U.K. news papers we had different rules to the pongos and weren't limited by the beer ration and normal 'K' ration packs. We had a deal with the WO catering officer and he made sure we were looked after. He did like fresh milk in his tea/coffee while he was reading the day's news

We enjoyed that time.

Not really an Air Show but it was a great show at RAF Coningsby! It was this pilot's first solo on the Typhoon having transferred from the Tornado fleet.
