I thought mother bats leave the kids at home when they go to work.
I browsed back and found some photos with babies on her belly.

Your actually right ...they do leave their pups when they go out at night to feed on nectar etc. The pups are generally left in a common area that acts like a creche with a few adult flyiing fox's looking over them till the mother returns . The Mothers really only fly with their pups during day when they either relocate their sleeping area or when they fly down to the river water for a quick drink or heat relief .

EF 8-15mm lens at 8mm on a FF body does that. It is a 180 degree view, circular fisheye. You can see other shots in this thread:

A couple of shots of a Square-tailed Kite with a chick in it's claw. Looks to be a Noisy Minor but not 100%.

This is one of a pair that appear to be building a nest in some large Gum trees a few doors down from my place.

Took these with the 100-500 but i will say i'm still not entirely happy with this lens
