On my part, I'm still going to be managing my own expectations as to what will be possible in the coming year.

That being said, intending to keep working on organizing my photos (was able to finish my entire library as of a few weeks ago), polishing my website, and trying to put myself out there a bit more.

Also aim to do a bit more landscape/nature/bird photography, since these should be easier regardless of what public health measures we may still have to contend with in the foreseeable future.

Don't know if you'd call those "resolutions", but those are my plans ;)

I'm hoping to get out a bit more this year as well. Wasn't able to travel like we usually do this year so I've had limited landscape shooting opportunities. Starting into bird photography which interests me very much at the moment.

I've committed to standing up a NAS solution to backup my expanding volume of photos this year. I've ordered all the components but NAS hard drives seem to be in short supply here locally so they are being shipped from the US. Looking at an offsite/cloud backup solution for the NAS data as part of the overall plan, I really want to have this setup with as much "hands off" as possible.

On my image catalogue, I've gone through the entire set and severely pruned it back as well as standardizing the folder and file naming structure, will be migrating it into C1 once that is completed. Still struggling with how I'm going to manage keywording in C1, I want to make sure I get it right from the get go.

Lots of things to keep me busy managing my photography at the moment.

Planning to go out on New Year’s Day for sunrise. This year has been the least amount of landscape photos I’ve taken since starting photography due to Covid and separating etc so aiming to try and turn things around in the coming year and try and get the bug back.

Anyone else got any New Years resolutions of sorts?

Finish off all the chocolates and biscuits and get lean again :p

I have walked about 12-13 miles Monday and today though!

Well done though mate. Good attitude. Show us those snowy mountains!

I like your point about travelling...the vast majority of us haven't been able to do so this year and, although I expect it the situation to be very similar in 2021, on that point I intend to continue restraining and planning my gear acquisitions as much as possible to be able to save up for travelling that much more in 2022/2023, and finally make it to some dream destinations (hopefully with the kind of gear that will be able to get me the results I can get - somewhat paradoxical I know, but what can you really do against GAS?).

That’s the other resolution I never mentioned, I’m about 2 stone heavy at the minute. Health kick starts on Friday!

Interesting to read a couple of you have sorted your catalogs, I’m part way through doing the same. Seems like a good lock down task

I went through mine a few weeks ago when I picked up a new external drive & swapped everything over.

My old gym shut down. But it's reopening on the 11th January under a new owners. Just hope Covid doesn't put a stop to that as I so, so need to get back into it.

I plan to take more time off and enjoy the photography trips, even if they are local, closer to the home.

My plan is to maintain my weight loss, now down from about 205 to 172.4 lbs as of yesterday. Now that I've lost some weight, I can wear some old clothes still in the closet I haven't worn in years. I just invested in a Laurastar Lift Plus steam iron so I can take better care of my button-up shirts, jackets, etc.

I also hope to get out and do a bit more shooting away from the house this coming year. My car definitely needs to be driven more. :-)

I tore a pectoralis muscle in august. It was pretty messed up. I "had" to let it rest and heal...which was more of an excuse to sit around and eat junk food all day! So I've got to get toned back up. I have what I refer to as my "prison routine" here at the house. That should whip me back into shape by spring.

I also hope to do some more trips this year. 2020 was a total dud!

Goal for me is to build my video skills over the course of the next 12 months, and then hopefully get into wedding videography.

I've said this for the past couple of years so we'll see what happens lol. I did get a new gimbal, so there's a bit of motivation to at least play with gear hah

I got the opportunity to take some pictures of my brother's truck and his new front bumper. I go back and forth with liking and hating the light streaks in the body paint, but I'm happy with this edit so far. I plan on coming back to it in the future with a fresh set of eyes. I really like the Lume Cube 2.0 for light painting, but I think I'm going to look for something that's more of a "flood light" so I can distance myself from the subject a little.

I was talking about the dust shake off that happens when you power down. All mirrorless have similar and it works, except on Sony.

when you put the camera in cleaning mode, it does the shake and shut down, never seen it actually remove dust, and if I'm using it, it's because I have something that wont go away.

the beaches and mountains were blocked off for some time, and usually I go with a partner, we'd hang out and eat. back to going solo, eating in car would be depressing :-(
