Another day of attempting to test the Sigma 150-600 + 1.4X III combo with the R6. Hoped to find eagles trying a different location, but skunked again with the only subjects available being much smaller. Was hoping to also find a rarity here of a white throated sparrow known to be frequenting the area, but no luck.

I have the 800 f11 but also the 150-600 C and 1.4 iii. Your results look pretty, pretty good to me. I'd been wondering how the combo you used would do, so I'm glad you reported this and I'll be following your posts if you do more.

Ok, so I am fairly new at posting to this site, and I observe that if I want to put images via the upload or pick from gallery options, I seem to be limited to the two images, yet I am seeing multiple images on one post. How does that work?

Back at the zoo, I got the following two shots in a fairly dark building that houses mainly ectotherms. These shots were take though glass that was already grubby from many small, sticky hands!

This little fellow would measure only about 100mm (4") in length, but the RF 100-500 nailed it, even though the DoF was wafer thin at the distance I was shooting from. Gory details EOS R6, Rf100-500 @ 500mm

In the same enclosure is the Tuatara, unique to NZ. It dates back over 260 Million years to before the dinosaurs and survived when NZ broke from Australia. The Tuatara is rather special as the young have a third eye on their temple between the other two. Thus it points somewhat skywards and is believed to have been an adaptation to allow it to sense avian predators, like the now extinct Haast's Eagle - an enormous bird with a span of between 2 and 3m (7-10ft).

The third eye is absorbed back into the skull as the Tuatara matures.

Many of us just post them on Flickr, then use the BBCode to post them here.

No problem if you have your own website/hosting, you can always upload the images there then turn the photos into a BB Code using the URL too!

Inspired with this I tried something similar.
And I noticed something (on R5 and M50). Just keep looking through the view finder for a minute and you will see a fuzzy cloud like line or band moves from bottom to the top. When it moves the background light spots get covered by that cloudy line till it moves.
This is more prominent on R5. On M50 you just see a bit thinner line.
This is probably the EVF refresh anomaly?
