Hey Mark,

I couldn't open this in PhotoLab 4. It indicated it's an unsupported raw format. Can you open it in your copy of PhotoLab?

Mark

Sorry Mark, no this won't open in Photolab 4. So just for you(and me) HERE (external link) is the TIFF version. Thanks for reminding me.

ETA: On the preview it shows some kind of error. Please let me know if you can download the file or not.

Please don't count this as a submission as I used Portrait Pro for part of my edit.

Gene, this doesn't disqualify you in any way :-) . This is a great edit!

Here is my fairly quick take on this image. I used the Tiff file Mark provided me since the DNG would not open in PhotoLab 4. The original image was kind of gritty looking at high magnifications and PhotoLab only has modest functionality to fix those type of issues on a Tiff file but I gave it a shot. In addition I removed some of the shine from the tip of her nose and under her left eye, softened her skin, lightened and brightened her eyes a bit, removed some blemishes and freckles, made her skin tones more uniform, brought out more reddish highlights in her hair, and, of course, I cropped the image. PhotoLab doesn't have the dedicated portrait features of some other software but its flexible tool set can still be used to enhance a portrait quite a bit.

Remove noise and cleanup.
set it to BW, and a lookuptable for a warm tint.
loaded it in the remini app for sharpnes restoring.

Used Imagenomic Portraiture to reduce skin noise. Removed double catchlight from camera-left eye. Color adjustments (obviously). Removed tanline on camera-left shoulder. Lightened eye color a little and added lipstick.

Definitely out of my wheel house. Frequency separation, worked on eyes, eye brows, mouth/lip & teeth, removed tan lines, even out complexation. A nice learning curve for me

2nd image thin the right side of her face

Lots of nice clean edits here so I decided to go the other way.
Converted to Black & White and added Sepia toning plus border. Texture layer with dust and scratches and high pass sharpening.

OK, my humble offering

1. Topaz Denoise AI - at a very high strength
2. SNS-HDR - using an LDR preset
3. Photoshop > clean up blemishes > remove second highlight in ete > desopeckle > enhance red lips > add vignette

Lovely edits all(except Mozes' second edit :-P she's not quite that old yet.). Great work, I think she'd be pleased. I love Mozes' first monochrome version and Martin's version is very nice, but it comes down to Gene's and Mark's versions which to me are the most natural. So I picked mwsilver as the winner with NavyDoc as the runner-up. Congrats to both and take it away Mark!

Thanks. My favorite was Mozes's sepia tone. (The first one, not the second)
