A preening Wigeon.

Very attractive shot, fotoi! The ducks sharpness, pose and the colors are all excellent.

Crack'in osprey with prey shot, Bill!

Since I can't leave NZ, and I wanted to try out my new R6 and the RF100-500 lens, I went to the zoo (as you do...).

I felt really lucky with this shot of a waterbuck cow with her calf both looking in the same direction, on the same focal plane, to get both their eyes in focus at f2.8 at 400mm!!!

Both these are excellent.
But the first really was well captured as you said.

Are they ticks on the cheeks?

Thanks so much, Richard. You are quite right. At this time of year and in this part of South Africa the rains have been quite good the last couple of months which often leads to healthy reproduction of ticks. I think the oxpeckers will be well fed this year.

Thank goodness for oxpeckers
Don't think we have anything that takes care of them here like that

Cuteness - I spent a wonderful few minutes photographing some lion cubs in a river bed in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve in South Africa last month. As a wiildlife photographer I feel quite fortunate that I'm stuck in South Africa during lockdown.
