I am not a videographer...but for what I do, I have landed on Premiere. I have gotten used to it and like the color editing panel more than the others I tried...

I escaped up to the lake this morning...if for just a couple hours it was nice to be out.

I use Vegas Pro 16 and have used this software for video editing since version 10.

I guess I was quite lucky in that the conditions were changing so quickly it allowed me to get so many different images of the same tree!!

You could make a nice triptych or something like that out of them. A series.

Love that Lee. For me, your best in the series of that tree. The soft tones would look great printed. I'm not often a cropper, but I reckon it would look even better with a little off the top, bottom, and off the left. :-)

Videographers...what's your video editing software of choice? Thanks!

Mac or PC, I would pick up davinci Resolve at bare minimum because it’s free, and can be used to create LUTS(video grade presets).

For editing:
PC + 8 bit video, davinci resolve free.
PC + 10 bit video, pay for davinci resolve studio.
Mac + 8 bit video, Davinci resolve free
Mac + 10 bit video, Davinci resolve studio or Final cut.

Not sure anything can color grade as good as davinci, so you want a copy, simply for the reason of creating LUTS. It happens to be a great full featured editor, however premiere and final cut have advantages with plugin purchases. Like a cool transition or graphics, easier to buy something for premiere or final cut, than davinci. I’ve edited over a hundred videos on the free version of davinci, it’s a solid editor that can do 99% of what Adobe or Mac offer, it’s the real deal and it’s free. Learning curve with any of these software can be overwhelming, and something like LumaFusion has the Lowest **** and the exception would be to use davinci with a special editing keyboard, but those can be expensive.

I have 7 videos I created over winter break, finished two, five to go..... I don’t think there’s any way around it, video editing takes a long time. The better/ more efficient you get, only reveals how insufficient your older videos were. Eventually, you incorporate more and more techniques, and it takes more work to complete, but you end up with higher quality video and story telling.

The first new video of the year is online now. It is a little about where I was this morning and a little about what is next and what I want to do with this channel in 2021.

Adobe Premiere for me,
I'd love to get away from the subscription based programs , but I already have lr and ps.. so premier made sense for just a bit more plus I get after effects for advanced video effects plus audition for audio..as well as a lot of other benefits from subbing to the entire Adobe suite

I do consider davinci and there is a free version (which obviously has it limitations vs the paid) but I cringe at having to learn a new program
