Wow! Could not imagine playing with those things on. Was in doctors waiting room about 10 days back watching tv. Surprised to see a player from Holy Cross speaking about being the first game played with the masks. The surprise was that I photographed him (and 2 of his brothers & 1 of his sisters) in high school!

Well done! I'm hoping to be shooting hoops again soon. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! The players don't seem to be too affected by the masks.

From my limited experience, the R5 is outperforming the 1DX2 for shooting basketball so far... The shutter doesn't seem to be quite as snappy, but it compensates with more accurate and consistent AF. WAAAAY more keepers!!

This is so strange to me. You say the players did not seem too affected, and the young man I mentioned from Holy Cross also said it wasn't as bad as they had expected. Then some coaches , like Boeheim, said it's impossible. He said his team has tried it & would sit out season if forced to wear them.

I have an assignment tomorrow night to photograph a wrestling match. I know for a fact they are NOT wearing masks.

Of course, the coaches have the biggest problem with the masks. It impacts their ability to shout :lol: . And to be fair, many of the players let it drop below the nose.
