My only issue is CA when shooting wide open. Now that I use mine on a mirrorless camera with IBIS, it is a real joy to use in low light situations.

I have a Sigma MC-11 and a Metabones IV, but prefer to use the MC-11.

jwcdds Cream of the Crop ![]() More info | The focus issues that used to plaque the 1.2L is all but eliminated when using Liveview focus. So any camera with DPAF will be fantastic. My 50L resides on my 1dx3 95% of the time, the R5 doesn't get any lens time. That said, I believe the 45mp sensor out-resolves the out-dated 1.2L so if for those searching for ultimate image quality/sharpness wide open, then you may need to cough up extra blood money for the RF version. Thank you. I am not after the extreme sharpness especially not of costs $1500 more. I will rent the lens to try out on R5 Desire to learn; a camera & a few other things.

Travel, etc? As much as I like my 50L, I've never used it as a travel lens in the 11 years that I've owned it. I have taken it out from time to time for photography in the city where I want to isolate the subject or shoot inside low light environments like museums, but I've found that the Nifty Fifty works almost as well in those conditions.

I have used mine for travel, but mainly in the evening and night time as we walk around the city. Great for low light. During the day, 24-70mm f/2.8 for the flexibility. Along with my 11-24mm f/4 and 70-300mm f4-5.6.
