It looks like you'd have to remove it to take out the battery. I think I'd rather get a bracket, "L" type bracket or straight only, that allows the battery to be taken out without the need to remove the bracket.

Ahh good point Gene, think I’ll stick to my half case

Hi, my name is Alfredo. I’m new here. How do you operate this Sony camera? :-P

Seriously, it’s been too long my friends! How is everyone???

Family is doing well. Been out of photography for a while. Been too busy with work. New schedule is 10 hour days but every Friday off. Been diving deep into stock investing and crypto. Learning a lot.

So great to hear from you Alfredo!

Good to hear you’re investing...the market has been wild the last 10 months! It’s a ridiculous bubble, but it’s nice to take advantage of it while we can.

Easy money right now but it looks like we're on the tail end of a a hype inflated bubble that is more and more starting to parallel the tech market crash so be ready to exit positions quickly if things turn south.

Gamestop was the most fascinating thing I've seen in a while. Wow.

”Be fearful when others are greedy” applies to bubbly times such as this.

Gamestop is a garbage company and it’s amazing that so many have invested in that dumpster fire. The bold few who timed it well made a killing though. ;-)a

Lol I love gamestop as a store. They screw most people but their promos are awesome if you know how to utilize them. But yes there is no business case for them in the digital age of gaming. Seems a lot of people are losing sight of the fact that if an asset price is not aligned with earnings/productivity/value, it will correct.

Fundamentals point to us being in a bubble....I don't have the cajones to try to time it. The thing is that it could be inflated by more stimulus money soon so avoiding the FOMO really takes discipline. GME is a microcosm of how overheated hype can turn sour fast and how holding the cards at the wrong time can burn you.

HOWDY!

We missed you. Glad your back and share million dollar ideas so we can buy new stuff too

Thanks Paul! Haha, no financial advice from me.

Gamestop was the most fascinating thing I've seen in a while. Wow.

Thanks Carlo! Good to be back. Oh yeah man. That whole short squeeze on Gamestop was incredible. Agree that the markets are so volatile right now. Valuations are crazy.

Great to see you 'drop in' Alfredo, I was asking if anyone had heard from you just a few days ago. I'm glad to read that you and your family are fine. I hope you'll find time in the future to snap a few photos and post them here.

Have fun being a 'day trader', and look out for those short sells.

Thanks Gene! That’s so nice. I’ve only been on a few local trips. One of them was with my family to the great sand dunes. I want to return there to get better images.

Haha, yeah I’m no fan of short sellers.

Thank you David! I’m dollar cost averaging and being careful. Tesla has been good to me.

Yeah

It's a good way of extending the lengthof the grip but not really useful for me. I much rather have a full length L-plate, it's what I have always used on my cameras for years. I have been shooting with the AR3 but will be picking up the new A1 when it's released in early March. I've been hunting for a bracket for the new camera but it seems to be out of stock at B&H even RRS doesn't have stock at the moment, the A1 uses the same L-bracket as the R4 and 9II.

Oh forgot to mention. There was one photography related purchase I made during my break. I bought a Synology 6 bay NAS with some Iron Wolf drives. I'm still finishing up re-organizing my photo library and culling but have moved some of my files over to the NAS. Looking to get Backblaze to backup my images.

:lol:I did the exact same thing earlier in January, picked up a DS1621+, super happy with the unit. It's all setup now except for the offline storage stuff, still deciding on a solution provider.

I was on Mark Galer Flick site checking out his A1 shots, I think it's the first reviewer that has posted action type shots, I maybe mistaken though. Pretty impressive.

We also had an addition to our family. Meet Jilli. We got her from the same Texas breeder as our other doxie, Jack. In fact, they have the same dad so they are brother and sister. Jilli is a sweetheart. Always by my side.

What a cutie. We lost our 15 year old Brittany Spaniel Casey early Christmas morning last year, I have missed him every day since.

I'm sorry to hear that Jose! It's so hard when that happens. They become such a big part of the family. Thank you.
