I just picked one of these up as I wanted a compact camera with great IQ for travel and snapshots. Paired it with a 50mm f/1.4G lens and am loving it so far! Coming from a 1DIV and 5D3, the AF isn't spectacular, but sufficient for what I am shooting these days.

Love the retro look, and really can't beat the sensor.

The same for me here...

Coming from the 5D3 to a Nikon DF.

What I really miss :
- A pro level AF especially in low light situations and a dedicated hold on/release button to switch from AF-S to AF-C instantly.
- Video (I know that's not the point with the DF but, still I miss it)

What I really don't miss :
- The banding and the lack of dynamic at base iso and that's really THE point at the end of the day : the image quality

I was thinking of starting a Df thread, not as an owner, but as a curious spectator :) Hopefully the pictures will start to flow now..........

I love my Df - light and great ISO. Terrible autofocus in dim light though (non existent almost), but as a travel camera with a light Nikon lens, or manual ficus, it is top of the rankings. My Canon 6D is for dim light autofocus, and to handle the 50mmL, but the Nikon 50mmAis on the Df is a match made in heaven...

Don't see any pics in here, so thought I'd post a couple. Loving this Df so far!

I have two Nikon Df bodies and I love them for the ergonomics, the old-school feel and the amazing sensor from the D4, tweaked for low light performance.

Awesome low light performance.

While we are in lockdown, some freedom of movement outside is allowed and kids took the opportunity to let off some steam on a portable bike and skateboard park installation, located in Auckland's inner harbour precinct.

The Df is outstanding and use it alongside my D300 which still produces excellent images despite its age.

Legitimately the best camera I have ever owned. So good, that I got rid of the used one I bought off MPB because it was grey market to buy a legit US market copy.

The Eagle Has Landed:

Over here down under in NZ, we are co-hosting, with Australia, the Women's Football World Champs. Downtown Auckland is heaving with players and fans: either seeing the sights, or on their way to one of the games.

In the first photo, the main downtown precinct of Britomart Transit Hub borders the Commercial Bay, the building site on the right, which was yesterday the scene of a tragic shooting incident where a young man went through the construction site shooting randomly. He and two innocent workers died, and several people were wounded. However, the police presence is not for that, it's a friendly support hub to provide reassurance and information to visitors and locals alike. The police were busy giving the former directions, which I am sure was a much happier duty for them.

In this case the USA is playing Vietnam, and there are a lot of folks coming to support both teams (which is great). One of the supporters, who I discovered is not an American, in full support regalia!
