Bummer. Sorry to hear that.

Today ALL DAY LONG it was crystal clear! I was sure I would get to take great shots of the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction, then one hour BEFORE sunset the thick clouds came rolling in.

DANG IT!!

A fairly big spot is rounding the limb right now. We should have a clear view by tomorrow sometime.

Very best,

Impatience set in this afternoon and I just had to see if my filter holder was going to work in my train(home brew). So I put the solar filter on and grabbed a quick shot of the latest sunspot activity. 2794 and 2795 I believe.

ZWO ASI290MM and Apertura 72 shot through a 7nm Ha filter.(test I said:)

AR2797 has a decent sunspot with it rounding the limb that is belching up some nice big filaments. There's a string of filaments along the entire active belt of cycle 25 right now. Nice to see a spot return after many days spotless after such great activity a few weeks ago.

AR2797 is still putting on a nice show, some minor flaring in the plage trailing the main of the dipole and some lovely dark filaments in the region. HA, CaK & WL here from a 100mm refractor.

now besides clouds we got over 12 inches of show yesterday will take a few days to dig my way to the observatory and dig it out

shoveled out, but now the snow is getting blown off the pine tree and my luck I would get all set up and have a bunch of snow land on the scope covering it.

snow today

I have maybe 4-5 inches of snow currently on the ground. It is also snowing here now, but a very light snow fall. The worst of it here is the temperature at around 10°. This morning it was 0° with wind chills way below that.

What is it in your photo appearing between your 2 scopes looks like in a bush or shrub?
