A couple of photos of the Malvern Hills, Worcestershire.

The second one is here for interest rather than any photographic merit. The snow and low light have picked out the Red Earl's Dyke. It was created in 1287 by Gilbert de Clare, the Earl of Gloucester, following a hunting and boundary dispute with Thomas de Cantilupe, the Bishop of Hereford. Gilbert rather cleverly constructed it on his side of the ridge of the hills and put a sloping wooden palisade on the top so that the bishop's deer could jump into his land easily but found it very difficult to jump back in the other direction.

I say he constructed it but if you've got plenty of peasants hanging around you obviously get them to do it for you.
