Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This week the theme is Something Ordinary. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Show us Something Ordinary, everyday, not spectacular...

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Tuesday, after the new theme is posted and the following Monday by sunset (Whenever that is for you). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them) but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.

Ordinary shot of Sandringham road (today) not far from where I live.
Council planning in recent years has changed the designation of the properties in this area from purely single one & two-storey dwellings to multi-floor and multiple dwellings per site.

Result of rising house prices, near-zero interest rates and demand for more housing generally is that developers are buying up land as fast as they can convince folks to sell, and they're throwing up concrete monstrosities like the one being assembled to the right of this pic.

You can see what's going to happen, in short order all the houses (and trees) you see in this street will be demolished/removed and we'll have hundreds of apartment blocks instead.
Hope I'm wrong....

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
TF posting: here :-)

Nice shot Joseph. I really like your processing of this.
We have had the same thing happening here with the city and
developers for years. Condo towers going up everywhere as
well as housing/rent rates. It is very sad when we lose the
beautiful tree lined streets like this.

Nice IR work Joeseph...
There are just too many people on the planet. I think we are all seeing the same thing. Nice older neighborhoods being torn down to put up blocks of apartments that we know will lead to over crowding... :-(

Hmmm, just noticed the wild animal entering the frame. Guess that's pretty ordinary around this place also.:-P

Thank you - once it's gone, there's no replacing it!

The same thing happens here, although your example is extreme for a residential neighborhood. Our zoning ordinances don't change so fast. What we get is new apartment/condo projects built taller than was formerly allowed. I sorely miss the natural views from my most-used walking routes. There are fewer places to see the hills from. The developers won't be happy until I can't see more than three feet in any direction.

This time of year, flowers become more common, which is sort of like ordinary  . A section of a big round shrub in a front yard:

I'm not sure forks on a laptop screen is an ordinary sight, but I like the colors.

Just two ordinary things not ordinarily seen together. Would that be a juxtaposition?
