I believe it is a male Rufous Hummingbird...I have a number of them that provide entertainment at the feeders in my yard.

We seem to have only Anna's Hummingbirds, from what I can tell. Still amazing and beautiful birds!

Extremely territorial critters. It may be due to that the limited food supply for them in the winter. I have seen a male sit at one of the feeders for hours. Any hummingbird that approached the feeder was chased away. He treats the feeder as his own personal food supply.

This one showed up last year a few days after the apricot trees started blooming, the next day, this. They just started blooming so hopefully she shows up again.

This little one has been visiting regularly over the last week or so. It usually goes back and forth between a shady spot inside the dwarf orange tree and a sunny high spot way up on the bougainvillea.
