I spent a lot of time walking around last year with the 100-400 attached to an M6II. I'm just now getting around to looking through a lot of those images. In fact it was a very long time before I downloaded them off the card at all. I had forgotten actually catching this Brown thrasher doing something besides hiding behind a bunch of branches for a change. They're pretty birds but I haven't been able to photograph them a lot.

These are taken at a local water reservoir, the Lower Nihotupu Dam
The first is on an obviously dank, dreary and foggy day in high summer (oddly enough), when the dam was overflowing

The second, taken in winter two years later, shows how the water level has dropped as we endured drought conditions, exposing the bed of the reservoir.

Love that first one. Interesting to see how low the water has dropped! And frightening too!

Reservoirs always look much nicer when they are filled with water.
It is even more disturbing when one considers that the low water mark was taken in the middle of our winter, when one would expect the water level to be close to its maximum!:eek

Water is gold really!

a few years I was in WA and the Wellington dam was overflowing, apparently quite a rare occurrence. Unfortunately We didn't have a good vantage point from the top.

I went out early into my garden and was rewarded with a rich tapestry of textures created by the overnight rain and dew. In this case the humble watering can offered a contrast between the long, narrow handle on top and the wider body of the device, dominated by the round aperture of the filler. It also offered a contrast between light and dark and finally was a true monochrome image, being shades of one colour.

The second image showed the differences in textures of water droplets on a glass table top. the table frame and the decking beneath.

Couldn't resist the great price of the new EF-M 22mm. Just picked one this morning.
Anyone in the market for that lens, it is at reduced price everywhere.
