Looking good out there Tony. I like the set up :-)

Had a chance to do a complete remodel on my room (still waiting on the bedside tables and flooring) and thought I would get some new pictures hung. First time doing acrylic prints but i really like how they came out.

Some progress shots

hi Tony,

after many hours of thoughts, I ended up just getting it, the m10r

IMAGE: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51183681772_34dc2c954d_b.jpg

a little of an impulse buy because I notice the price had gone up since release date, could be because of what's happening in the world, a sudden shortage of raw materials and logistics going crazy. so I didn't want to have to spend even more later on when I finally decide. was looking at used first but conditions arent to my liking so I just bit the bullet and got a new. dropped by the grove to try to get some shots after the purchase. battery was dead when I was setting it up at the store, thank goodness for the car plug that was included, I was able to charge the battery 10% while heading to the grove which was enough.

IMAGE: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51184369241_9c2397fcdf_b.jpg

I love the colors and the look of the images from the camera. didn't have to do anything to the wb, but I did raise the exposure and little shadow in post because the picture was underexposed.

Omar!!

thank you, it's a real pleasure to be shooting with it. but let me tell you my experience, it by no means is the best camera. it's overly priced and lacks alot of features. leica shooters will surely hate me for saying that hehe

the sony sensor and AF far exceeds the leica. leica does have the better glass if you were to go all manual. my first step into the leica world was the 50 1.4 summilux. back then when you guys was talking about the sigma and I asked why was the sigma 50 1.4 called the sigmalux and you guys had told me about the summilux lens. of course I had to look and I was blown away and always had the bokeh images in my mind.

still till this day the leica lens prove to be superior. the otus came out but the leica still had an edge, and now the sony 50 1.2 has come out and it performs really well. it's over all a better lens than the 50 summilux, but the one thing that is better with the leica that cant be touched is the bokeh fall off. the look and rendering of the summilux is just so mythical, or something like that.. out of curiosity after watching a youtube video on the sony 1.2 vs summilux, I checked the used market and saw a really clean used for an acceptable cost. I went and got it and mounted on the sony and really liked the images. the guy I bought it from asked me if I wanted to check out his leica and he brought out his m10r and sl2 for me to hold and get a feel of it. i loved the built of the m10r. its not great for ergonomics, it is what it is. the feel of it was something and something I want to hold onto more. he had a used m10p that he was selling but I didnt want to spend that much and was not sure which model I would want. after getting more familiar with leica and checking the market. I just went ahead and got a new one despite the high cost because i'm just too picky and want things new. all the ones ive seen had some marks and scuffs.

i got a zeiss 35 2.8 to try as well and it was good, but I felt i could use a wider lens. there was another leica that caught my eyes, something I saw when I visited the leica store. a limited edition daniel craig version of a leica q2. the q2 is a camera with 28mm 1.7 summulix fix lens. what attracted me was the black and gold. i kept thinking about it and ended up just getting it instead of regretting it later.

posted a picture here. i got a lims half case on it to help the ergonomics and give it some protection. the lims half case also has an arca swiss dovetail to be able to mount on a tripod. the q2 also offers auto mode so thats a nice thing as well as an evf. both q2 and m10 have focus peaking.

POST 19244795

i think having a 28 and 50 is all I need. oh I returned the zeiss 35 to help cope the cost and I dont think I need something between the two hehe.

so Omar, having b&h near you, Id recommend to go to the store and try it out. the different versions of m10's have different shutter. m10-p and m10-r is quieter than the original. the m 240 has a nasty shutter. q2 is quite nice. one thing about the q2, it doesnt feel as nice as the m10, it feels like plastic after holding the m10. but its not plastic, its aluminum alloy. the half case actually makes it feel nicer. also, leicas arent that small and light, so thats something to keep in mind if you are looking to keep the size and weight down. the fuji x100v is a really nice camera and something to think about for that matter.

Omar

shooting with Leica is easier and at all manual is more exciting (I shoot Aperture priority, auto iso, and auto wb). I actually leave the Sony A7R4 more at home now.

Yes visit B&H and play around with the M10 and variants
