Which f0.95? i have the Mitakon. Wondering how it compares to some of the less expensive lens? I could sell the Mitakon, buy a $99 version and have enough left over to buy another nice lens! Thoughts?

I have the more budget friendly 7Artisans version here, waiting on Laowa to ship their new 33mm 095, though I’d say it’s probably a bit more pricy.

I have the Mitakon, too, and it is pretty fabulous.

After getting my GFX, I sold off most of my X gear and got down to a pretty minimal setup. I kept the 35/1.4 and the 18/2 (ok, I also have not gotten rid of the kit zoom, which I haven’t used...).

Even with the minimalist setup, which includes a 35, I kept the Mitakon 35/0.95. It is a very special lens.

So I will be very impressed if the less expensive lenses are nearly as good. But you never know...

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).

Very cute shots, Matt! She's going to be a heartbreaker in not too long.:-)

Not too long = too soon :-( wish I could slow down time so she could stay this age for just a little bit longer. The absolute innocence and joyous wonder they have is such a heart melting experience, and it's gonna be tough seeing it ground out of them (her and her little sister) by this merciless world. Alas, that's the way it goes, so I'm cherishing each and every second of each day I get to spend with them :)

One shot today, still wide open, thankfully for the electric shutter.

Very nice. The trees in the background on the left almost look like an oil painting.

Thanks! I actually tried cropping one with just those trees because I had the same thought... maybe I'll take a look at it again.

Another one from that same weekend on our way back from church.

Also I'll have Laowa's new 33/0.95 Fuji mount lens in sometime soon for a test so will have to compare that with the 7Artisans.

And bumped into Lucas, who I did some shots for with the 35/0.95 in December. Look at that background, OOF mush...

Thanks, it is an interesting look for sure, busy learning the lens for now to see what's it's about. Still have a couple of things to figure out.

The 50 is already expensive enough, can only imagine the extra price on a 30mm F/1 and the size too. I'm looking forward to more faster GFX lenses though for most of the portraits and things I shoot I don't need a shallow DoF but it's nice to have at times. Was discussing that yesterday with a fellow Fuji shooter who called over to borrow some lenses and a camera, he also does a lot of portraits with a 50r & usually shoots up at 8 or11. Still a really interesting look to have a wide aperture on a large sensor.

Todays snaps with the 50mm all @F/1. After a quick pass through Capture One 21 Beta3, that I'm testing out. Although the weight of the lens is a lot, for the small light cameras Fuji have, it's not so out in front that it feels awkward, if anything it's the opposite, feels more stable so looking forward to not having to use the electronic shutter and taking some shots at slow shutter speeds to see.

my experience is that there is a different interpretation in color.. one that makes a better starting point.. howevr not unattainable with adobe.. thats my opinion on that.. i have both.. and while i do want to use capture one they dont do enough of what i want (for portraits) for certain aspects of photography .. if i was cityscape or landscape only i might be tempted to dump adobe
