DCBBPhotography Cream of the Crop More info | Mar 04, 2021 06:05 | #11450 War Hill Park on Lake Lanier early one morning while the stars were still visible. I've played with this image for a long time not sure where I wanted to go with it (if anywhere). I think b&w works best due to all the contrasts. Interested to hear what you think. John

The B&W conversion is top notch - same as all your work. The image itself is lackluster in my eyes, kind of like two separate images lumped into one image. Not enough L and too much R hand side. Sometimes those buoys make for nice lines / markers in image, but they're washed into the whole and the light doesn't highlight them. Yeah, this one doesn't work for me. Nobody but my mother understands half my photographs, so those comments are worth what you paid X100T XT3

All the best.I'm inclined to agree but, if it were mine, I'd try cropping off the top third and show it as a 16x9 format. As above, just my opinion FWIW

I considered cloning out the buoys and may do so to see what that looks like. I agree the image isn’t typical and breaks quite a few rules. Still I like the feel of it. In fact I co side red cropping as the other respondent mentioned as well. It would certainly provide more “balance” as it were. I rather like the vastness of the sky above, it sort of reminds me of how small we are in the great scheme of things. John

I actually did play around with cropping much of the sky out and for certainly it resulted in a more conforming image. For some reason I really like that huge expanse of sky in this one as mentioned in my other reply. John
