Was going to take mine down to the local for a "docking" but now thinking I won't either. Other people's experiences with this?

I think I may have overreacted - it could just be that the lighting was poor when I tested it out but I've yet to test it on a good day.

I did a basic check on whether it was back/front focusing or not and it seems accurate.

You need to read what the firmware update is supposed to address and if it isn't something that you normally do or care about, don't do it. Screwed up Dynamic OS on the first upgrade I did. The firmware changes are listed on the Sigma site.

I'm 65 already? Thought I'm still 64, just a year shy of qualifying to receive a Covid vaccination in my state.

Thanks both. Will read up on this. No complaints at the moment, though, when on my 5D ii or 90D, but there's always that nagging urge to tweak ... . Wonder if can be rolled back. Must Google that one.

Random one using the 5Dii - as a portrait lens. No cropping.

We've been having quite a bit of snow this weekend and temperatures close to 0°F. I opened the window for a bit this afternoon and photographed some of the birds in the yard. I had to laugh at this photo with the snowflake on the sparrow's tail.

Just got mine yesterday and haven't had time to "take it out". Attached a pic of the neighbors garage door from across the street. I can only say WoW! Never had this long of a lens before. Can't wait to find some decent subjects for the new family member.

I've seen a lot of pictures of birds in this thread, which is sensible. It's a great birding lens.

I shot some birds myself this morning. Boy, these ones are NOISY when they fly directly over your head!

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?
