I haven't been on the forum much in the last year because I have had no sports to shoot. Well, after over a year, I finally got to shoot a McNeese football game this past Saturday.

My gear list has changed a lot since then. I have two 1Dx's and an R6 with only 3 lenses left. The lenses are a 24-70mm f/2.8 II, a 70-200mm f/2.8 II, and a 300mm f/2.8 IS I. I have sold my 2 7D2's, my 1D IV, and about 4 lenses in order to get my second 1Dx and an R6 with an adapter, a battery grip and and extra battery. I also have a Canon extender 1.4 III and a Canon extender 2.0 III.

I shot this game mainly with the Canon R6 (with electronic shutter) paired with the 300mm f/2.8 + the 1.4 extender. Used the extender because we weren't allowed on the fields and I shot mainly from bottom of the hills behind the endzones. By the way, both of the extenders work great with the R6 with none of the softness , especially the 2.0 extender, you see using them on a DSLR.

Got to shoot some more football Saturday. Didn't have my best day. Here are a few of the shots. Note: Some of the photos were taken with a Canon Extender 2.0 III and others were taken with a 1.4 Extender III. You can tell by exif data which were which. I will be glad when the Covid stuff is over and I can get back down close to the field.
