I guessed I would be out on the travel time. For me getting to Hereford (for work) is 3.5 to 4 hrs. Once we can travel, I'm hoping to get to Brecon and get some photos at 4 waterfalls, but its the one near by, I would like to see. The only waterfall I have near me is when a sluice gate is over flowing in the drainage ditch.

Central Brecon's ie Pen y Fan and the main waterfall area is about 1hr 30min early in the morning. We usually do the waterfalls every March for my birthday but alas..... Certainly worth going over though, preferably on a weekday as it's much quieter.

correct i have shot full manual for years but i also include WB too, as I only shoot jpeg I don't want the colour balance changing either .
I'm still working on the A1 but 5600 /5800 K seems to be about where I want to be .

Rob.

Yep, forgot about WB, I always set thatntoo.even when shooting raw to avoid little shifts between frames..

I love minimalistic arrestingly beautiful photos like this. It conveys a feeling of loneliness as if it’s the POV of the last human alive on earth.

Just got my Sigma 40mm f1.4 Art. Holy guacamole, this thing is huge and heavy.

Quick shot. I had to sell my Fuji GF 45mm f2.8 but now looking at the shot from GF lens a week ago, I am having second thoughts.

Fuji 45mm f2.8 GF, @f2.8. The rendering, and the way highlight shadow transition happens, looks better even though it is a slower lens. Maybe this is due to the medium format look. I should have done side by side before selling it.

The alcohol we burned in the torches used to form up wax crowns in the Dental Lab aboard my ship USS Oriskany in 1966 was also 190 proof. :p

Bobbyz is correct in that the Live View effects on/off is disabled when a flash is detected on my a7rIV. I used two Nissan 700A flashes in strip boxes aimed at the background photo (Royal Gorge), and the Nissin Air One controller mounted on camera. I'm not sure where I got the idea that Live View effects worked with flash. -?

Managed to get out for a wander today with the tripod and the 10 stop ND. Up until last week we've only been allowed out for walks, exercise and essential travel, so being allowed to stop and set up a tripod etc is a real treat!!

Saw a kingfisher whilst walking along the river inbetween these shots. Saw it perched on a branch, and do the whole dive thing, which was amazing to see. I only had the 16-35 with me though, fitted with filters etc, so didn't even bother trying to photograph it!

Gene, there is another option called Shot Preview on/off. This seems to be only available to put on a button. Then when you press it and hold it (with trigger or flash on camera still on), it will show you the ambient. I used it yesterday for the first time. Works but kind of distracting. Wish camera showed ambient as is.

Dont blame you either. To be fair, I'm sure where you've been taking pics you've been a lot more than 2m away from anyone else!!!

EDIT: I modified the bottom image as a B&W because I had a change of mind and thought B&W was more appropriate for that image.

The Garmin took me down a pretty sketch dirt road today...

They look very different, but that could be a color rendering thing as much as light, conditions and any number of factors...the Fuji does look good. Makes me kinda want one for portraits...

During my Utah trip, we drove the scenic route along UT-12 from Capitol Reef towards Bryce Canyon. It was a beautiful drive taking you through a national forest, up a mountain to 9600 ft, and down through the edge of the Escalante National Monument. I got lucky with the light and timing as we pulled over in time at this overlook during sunset. I believe Paul mentioned this place would be ideal for spending a few days camping and hiking around the canyons.
