I was trying to go out and get some Birds in Flight shots for practice. The birds decided to disappear. As I was walking I saw a small pond with milk weed and thought this would be an interesting minimalistic shot. I completely forgot to change my ISO from Auto ISO... Oh well!! I think I managed to salvage this one. Image hosted by forum (1094144) © 308Shooter [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff. Happy Shooting - Jamey

You should have just said you did it on purpose, which is actually a great effect with the B&W. A number of Fuji posts I follow recommend 12800 for heavy contrast B&W presets in the camera. I might have cropped that image a little different so that the black line of the stalk split sthe image at the 1/3 mark, and probably cropped to a square, but that's just personal preference. I think it's a very fine image as-is, as you presented it. The DoF gives a fantastic layering to the image.

For reference, I took this over the week with ISO pushed to 12800, lit with my iPhone to get the shadow, and this is SooC that I don't plan to touch. I'm not thrilled with the comp yet so am going to have another go at it, but still, 12800 is a solid setting. Cheers, man!
