Local wetlands (Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach) is a rookery every spring and every spring there are more and more wood storks, although there are still egrets, herons and ibis nesting there they are getting pushed out by the storks. They are feeding chicks and working on nests now so the hundreds of nesting pairs (some right next to the boardwalk, you can photograph them with a phone) are very active flying in and out of the nests. It's like a VERY busy airport in a small space. And VERY noisy. Tons of humans too, from all over the USA and around the world. Quite a scene. Having all these prehistoric looking storks flying all around you (some pass over pretty low) is like being in Jurassic Park.......and then there are those great egret chicks, VERY Jurassic Park!!

First day out with the RF 100-500.

Nice shot! Must be easy with all the wood storks, but that would be a great outing with the new lens. I want that lens too but will hang on to the 100-400 II for now while I have the 90D. If Canon comes out with an attractive mirrorless crop, that would be the time for me to switch.

Canon R5, Canon 90D, assorted Canon lenses, Sony RX10 IV

Thank you kindly Mike, I think that investment in the lens/TC paid off.
