Fabulous shot, Mike! The texture of the water takes the photo to the next level!

Thank you for the very uplifting compliment, Sam. It is much appreciated.

Thanks Mike for your kind comments. Much appreciated :-)

Mike that's another lovely duck photo. The frontal view with that brilliant coloured eye is indeed beautiful. The water just adds to that beauty.

Your kind comments are truly appreciated, Richard. Thank you very much.

Beautiful closeup Mike. I really like the ripples in the water.

Many thanks, fotoi! You're the guy who got me to really started looking at the water for color and various other effects. Before, I'd just look at the bird and didn't worry very much about what the water looked like. Now I find myself constantly looking for the pretty water colors are other attractive effects.

Nice detail and color. You can even make out the ring on this one.

Thank you Ken. I never understood why they weren't named ring-billed ducks instead of ring-necked ducks. The ring on the bill is so much more prominent.

Awesome shot Mike, I like the head on view

Thank you muchly, Brian! I seem to always get the side views, and it's nice to get a decent head on view every now and then.:-)

Thank you Ken. I never understood why they weren't named ring-billed ducks instead of ring-necked ducks. The ring on the bill is so much more prominent.

What I've read is that the neck ring is more obvious on museum skins, and back in the old days that's what ornithologists studied.
